Etain and Midir is an old Irish Celtic tale of King Midir of the Tuatha de Dannan, who fell in love with a beautiful young maiden Etain. His wife was furious and in secret she cast a spell on the unfortunate girl, turning her into a pool of water, which in turn transformed into a butterfly.
